VW Golf 1.6 fsi EML: Diagnose cutting out and power issues.
A quick video showcasing how easy it is to inspect the high-pressure pump and lifter on these specific FSI engines. Initially I didn’t think that this issue was going to be our fault, but as it turned out, I was mistaken! Fortunately, it turned out to be a nice, straightforward, and affordable fix that anyone can manage with a bit of guidance.
Volvo P2520 Fuel pressure fault
Not a difficult disg, but what truly perplexed me is that the owner took this car to a garage that performed a code reading. They charged the customer for this service but then chose not to investigate any further into the underlying fault. It’s important to recognize that code reading, which identifies error codes stored in the vehicle’s computer, and diagnosing the actual problem—understanding what those codes mean and how they relate to the vehicle’s performance—are very different things. A thorough diagnosis is essential to pinpoint the specific issues affecting the car, rather than simply reading off codes without taking the necessary next steps.
Immobiliser delete
This video is focused on the various uses of immobiliser removal, showcasing how surprisingly quick and efficient the process can be when done correctly. However, I must emphasize that I do not demonstrate the actual procedure, as detailing the methods involved would be highly irresponsible. My intention is to inform and educate viewers on the benefits of immobiliser removal without compromising safety or ethical standards.
Vauxhall 2.0 CDTI DPF Temp sensor replacement
Replacement of the DPF position 1 Temperature sensor is a task that can seem fairly straightforward for those familiar with automotive repairs. This may provide valuable insights or guidance to someone who is less experienced. It’s important to remember to also pay careful attention to the software components associated with this task, as they play a crucial role in ensuring everything functions correctly after the sensor has been replaced.
Citroen Nemo DPF Diagnosis
We diagnose a DPF and check parameters to determine the blockage cause. This Nemo has a clogged filter. The job should have taken half the time, but I faced technical issues. This is not a comprehensive ‘How To’ guide, as all systems vary, and understanding these systems requires significant time and investment.
Ford 2.2 diesel DPF fault P2463 P246B due to faulty Vaporizer
This Galaxy came in with a fairly common Ford DPF issue, the vaporizer in the exhaust. There are plenty of other things that can go wrong and cause DPF faults but this vid is about a couple of easy steps to check the vaporizer. Non of it is rocket science, obviously we use expensive technical information and I get through it fairly quick as it’s day in day out work here and you get a feel for the type of issue the car is suffering with on an initial drive. Obviously not everything went to plan in the video but you get the idea 1- Visual inspection 2- Check your faults and live data for exhaust reaching temp. 3- Check vaporizer glow plug fuse 4- Remove and inspect the vap and glow plug 5- Check pressure in dpf
Lack of power, hesitation & surging - VW 1.6 TDI
This 2011 Touran with the 1.6 CAYC engine came in with customer complaint of a lack of power (only marginally) an engine hesitation and surging at cruising speeds.
First, I would check the fuel system to ensure that the fuel pump is delivering the correct pressure and that there are no clogs in the fuel lines.
This is how I would go about a quick preliminary diagnosis.
Next, I would examine the airflow components, including the mass airflow sensor and air filter, to rule out any restrictions or malfunctions.
The customer gets no dashboard warnings and there is no codes in any systems.
Given the issue presents with no codes, it may indicate a sporadic fault that is harder to diagnose without observing live parameters.
But live data really helps narrow things down very quickly, now while they all have their different abilities I like to use the Autel due to its graph merging capabilities which made the fault apparent in minutes.

Overall, this methodical approach will help ensure that I address the underlying issue efficiently.
BMW A0AA fault. CAS ELV Steering lock reset
A very common fault on BMWs is A0AA stored in the Car Access System.
This fault can be attributed to various factors, but it often manifests under specific conditions such as low battery voltage or excessive component wear.
Can cause an annoying light and Bing noise or even non start.
To avoid this, it is recommended to regularly check your vehicle’s systems to ensure everything is functioning optimally.
Usually this is a software issue pertaining to current draw (wear in components making them work harder was not taken into consideration at the programming stage) Anyway this is how you can carry out a reset using an Autel system.
It’s not as obvious as you might think or like, but it works so they can be forgiven.

Additionally, keeping your software updated can help prevent these issues from arising in the first place.
Reset Citroen Peugeot Diesel Additive Fluid
Here’s a brief overview regarding the process of resetting the FAP fluid level. I believe that most individuals are already familiar with this procedure, and I want to clarify that I do not intend to come across as condescending in any way. However, it is worth mentioning that even after more than 10 years of this system being in operation, I continue to receive frequent calls from various garages that are struggling to perform the reset successfully. It seems that despite the time that has passed, some aspects of this procedure remain unclear to many, which is why I think it’s important to provide additional clarity on how to execute it correctly.
Ford Focus Non-start, cutting out, dash lights, fault codes
Ford Focus instrument cluster fault can be a frustrating issue for many vehicle owners. Understanding how quick and easy it is to perform a simple diagnostic check is essential. This is a very common fault that affects a wide variety of Ford models, manifesting itself through symptoms such as intermittent non-start situations, the engine cutting out while driving, issues with the engine speed sensor, and sporadic loss of power-assisted steering (PAS) or anti-lock braking system (ABS). Additionally, you may notice dash warning lights appearing unexpectedly, the rev counter dropping out on occasion, and a host of other peculiarities. It’s important to be aware that several common fault codes are associated with these problems, including U0121, U0122, U1900, U2012, and U0073. Prompt attention to these symptoms can help ensure your vehicle runs smoothly and safely.
